All YPP Members are invited to submit a White Paper on “Embracing Innovation in the Energy Evolution”.

Each essay should explore how the pipeline industry will be “Fueling the Global Energy Demand” in 1500 words or less. This topic is intentionally left open-ended to encourage creativity from the authors. Suggested essay topics include:

• Leveraging existing U.S. infrastructure

• The decarbonization of fossil fuel usage (e.g., efforts to improve efficiencies, methane mitigation, capturing emissions during transmission and operations, etc.)

• The impact of new energy sources on the pipeline industry (e.g., hydrogen, RNG, etc.)

• The pipeline industry’s place in CCUS & Direct Air Capture [DAC] (e.g., CO2 transportation, storage, etc.)

A panel of industry experts will be assembled to review each white paper submitted. The panel will score the submissions and select the final winner. The winner will be announced at the YPP Symposium, which will take place in Houston on May 16, 2024 and will be invited to present their paper at the YPP Symposium.

The winner will also receive free admission to PRCI’s Research Exchange where they will also be presenting their white papers. YPP will sponsor a travel grant to either of these conferences for the winner including flight and travel reimbursement up to a certain to be determined dollar threshold.
